SKY CLOAKS
 

Wizards who channel magical energy to create and manipulate air and lightning effects are called Sky Cloaks. Their powers range from simple redirection and control of air and lightning all the way up to storm creation and physical transformation.

Like most Wizards, Sky Cloaks usually apprentice in small numbers to an accomplished Sky Cloak in order to master their powers. This results in the learning of some of the simpler magics common to all Wizards, followed by study of the the core powers. Like most Wizards, Sky Cloaks generally prefer privacy and secrecy. Many are dangerous and hungry for power, and many are not. Still, the possibility of unchecked and unknown power in the hands of Wizards leads to unease among most people. Therefore, Sky Cloaks are somewhat distrusted by commoners.

Sky Cloaks are more often seen than many types of Wizards. Healers and Pyromancers are the most common types of Wizards because of their usefulness and service to many communities. Stone Crafters are often involved with trade skills, construction projects, and fortification defense. Sky Cloaks are the most common Wizards found outside these other occupations. Those who are interested in free-lance adventuring or independent research often pursue Sky Mastery because of the wide range of attack, defense, and movement options available. However, some Sky Cloaks seek only to master their powers and sail the upper skies.
